I was gifted four tickets because the man that called had wanted to do that and sent me a note and said to come if I felt well enough. What a wonderful gift. I was glad I was feeling better.

We didn’t stay for the whole thing because everyone had a long day and were tired. It was very fun and I saw several people that I knew there. Our friends danced, but Pete and I didn’t dance since we hadn’t danced swing in over 20 years. I would have liked to try, but I find everything exhausting and it looked to be an activity that I couldn’t tolerate at the moment. I did enjoy the music and just watched the many dancers there who were incredibly good. I love that era of music. I decided that when I am well, we will go and take swing lessons. I need some fun goal to look forward to for the end of this season. The band was wonderful. They were called the “Sugar Daddy Swing Kings.” I think they play all the time somewhere, so when Pete and I and our friends, Dan and Karen take lessons again, we can go dance swing and enjoy the band in the future. I just absolutely loved it. I couldn’t really have danced last night because I was having bone pain from the injection I get post chemo day. It would have hurt to be hopping around at the moment. This too shall pass.

Yesterday, I was able to eat dinner without discomfort which I was glad because it was very delicious. Today, my mouth, throat and tongue are more sore, so I am looking at a day of eating as a challenge. I may have to do protein shakes to just get through this if I can not tolerate eating. Just one more of the Adriamycin and Cytoxan, so I will manage the best I can for the next two weeks. I will juice today and see if I can tolerate that this morning. I can at least drink my vegetables if I cannot chew them.

It looks to be a beautiful day ahead with clear skies. I am going to try a little yard work while I feel well. I will just sit on a little crate I use as a gardening chair and plant some ground cover until my body says that I can not finish.

I actually feel the strength of all the prayers of my family and friends.
