Then Pete and I went to have my MRI at San Luis Diagnostics Center this morning. I always have claustrophobia, so the plan was for them to medicate me prior to the procedure so I could tolerate it. So I pretty much fell asleep during the procedure after briefly hearing the loud noises that the machine makes even with ear plugs in. I was in dream land and never did have any anxiety at all and was pretty gorked out after the procedure. They took me by wheelchair out to the car.

Pete and I went to Splash Cafe for a late breakfast then returned home and I slept probably for a couple of hours. I think the drugs hit me harder this time because I was also taking my new blood pressure medication and 1/2 a tablet of my anti-dizzy medication, Meclizine. The combination of those drugs and the ones the radiologist gave me were quite a doozie.

I still wanted to get some exercise in, so Peter, myself, and Bert the dog went for a walk all the way to Starbucks to just have a destination to walk to; so we both had a half-caff and split a scone. It was a rather long walk, but it did feel good to me. Bert and I were very pooped, but we did ok. Our new pedometers report 2.7 miles round-trip.

I am not sure when I am going to get the results of the test, but I do have an appointment with the oncology radiologist on Friday, and then with my oncologist surgeon next Tuesday. I am hoping to hear the news of my tumors shrinking which would be nice. I hate to have to wait so long, but I suppose what difference is it going to make anyway. My treatment plan isn’t going to be changing, but it would still be nice to know the test outcome.

The first four cycles of the chemotherapy drugs didn’t shrink the tumors at all, although they didn’t grow either, so I guess that is something. I still hope and have been praying for the last four cycles of chemo have shrunk it this time around.

I had planned to go to my new yoga class which was at 4 pm, but I was still feeling the effects of the drugs from this morning so we just went for the walk instead. I didn’t feel up to another trip to San Luis Obispo. Los Osos was sunny and warm, so the walk was very pleasant.

Poor Bert the dog. He was ‘skunked’ this week and the owner warned me; and she told me she used a product to de-skunk him but he is still pretty stinky. It is making the house smell of skunk. I called my next-door neighbor to ask her what she used on her dogs who have been skunked twice. She said she would give me the recipe tomorrow. There are three items mixed to bathe the dog which the Pet ER recommended to her. They are all over the counter products, so it should be easy to obtain without having to get an expensive product from the vet. Poor guy!

This morning, Wednesday, I took one of my happy dog clients for a very early walk after his owner left for a visit with family.
