Yesterday on Saturday I got to pick up a new client and walk her. She was a small boxer and we had a nice time. Pete went with me, and after our long walk we played with her and gave her a treat and water. Beautiful boxer she was. I hope I get a regular assignment with her. Jazmin is her name, and I forgot to take a camera to get her picture.
Today is Sunday the first of July and our church is hosting a group of young people from the Master’s Commission discipleship training school that I really wanted to see. I had another dog client I needed to go walk this morning before church, but I realized that it was going to be too long of a day if I tried to do everything. So Pete went to church for his before-church music practice, and I stayed home and walked little Tink.
Pete picked me up to take me over to see the young people, and then the church hosted a wonderful lunch for everyone. I was glad to get to chat with some people and even one of the guests, but I really felt like I was not really ‘there’ mentally. I got a little lunch and everyone came up to me to talk from time to time and that was helpful because I felt too fatigued today to go up to people to chat.
I came home and have rested this afternoon, but I still feel really fatigued and the muscle and joint pain kicked in mid-afternoon. I had to have Pete walk Tink for me this time.
I had some sourdough starter that I haven’t fed for a while and I decided to get that going last night to make sure it wouldn’t die. So since I had some starter out, I threw sourdough bread together and I have been letting the dough raise today. What was I thinking? Oh well, a little movement and activity to get the old body moving. We will have some lovely sourdough french bread. Smells good.
The rest of the evening I will be resting and I am so glad that this was my last chemotherapy treatment. I just need to get through this week and I hope to have some energy later in the month. At least more than I have now.
