A Full Week

I meant to do more blogging this week, but it ended up being a full week. Monday of course, I had picked up Boaz to watch while his owners were going away for vacation, and then my sister and brother-in-law came very late which I wrote about earlier in the week. The next morning I drove Pete to the airport, and we were gone before Pete got to even say hello to my family. I figured that would happen. But then while Pete was on a lay over in Los Angeles Airport waiting for his next flight, he skyped us on his Itouch, and then he was able to say hello and goodbye to them. Modern technology, what did we do before all this? Ha. We managed, but it is nice to see people face to face now even when they are distant.

My sister always finds an excuse to go shopping in our little town, so Tuesday and Wednesday we went into San Luis Obispo to get what she needed. Tuesday I didn’t want to shop so I wouldn’t be tempted to spend because we need to be careful in light of the medical costs we are accruing. So Steve and I dropped her off, and we went to the park and walked Boaz the dog. Wednesday, I did my lab draw early, then I picked up Bert. I had Bert for the day, and he and Boaz hit it off grandly. I had a fatigue moment, and both dogs wanted to nap with me in the bed, so there was a little competition there for a few minutes, but they did it very politely, and Bert won out. I thought it funny, but I was glad they made their decision so I could rest. Then we walked the boys up to see the horses later in the afternoon. I don’t know if they even noticed the horses, but they had a good sniff.

My sister went with me to my chemo day on Thursday, and it went smoothly. I saw one of my new friends from the support group, so we exchanged phone numbers to get together for a walk soon since she lives in Los Osos as well.

Today, Sue, Steve, Boaz and I are going to my Neulesta appointment, and then afterwords we will get some subway sandwiches and go to the park. It looks sort of cold today, but I am in Los Osos now and it may look differently in SLO. We will see. If it is too miserable looking, then maybe we will just go to a cafe that has a cover patio where Boaz can sit with us. Then we go pick up Pete at the airport at 2:30 pm.

I have been feeling fairly well most of this week. Just tired which is all part of it. But at least I have had some bursts of energy and have attempted a couple of days of exercise. I was glad to get started, but it wasn’t where I used to be. I have to start back slowly and eventually build back up again. I am so thankful for good days. Only one more chemotherapy cycle in two weeks! Yeah!
