Today I feel a bit better than the weekend, but incredibly weak. I had three days in a row that were difficult after the chemotherapy kicked in. I pretty much can not do anything but lay around and just get through it. This is the third one that is the brutal one, and it was much more intense than the first two cycles. I do hope this doesn’t mean that it is harder each dose taken. At least the next one is the last one on this combination of drugs. The last four cycles will be a different drug which the nurse promised me that it won’t be as hard. I am looking forward to that.
I signed up for a Lymphedema Education class which they recommend, so I will go to that today. I called my friend, Alice to drive me since I feel a little weak to drive today. It will probably go quick and I am sure it is information that I need to be aware of.
I was thinking of doing a couple of errands while in town, but in light of how I feel, I think that will be all I do today. I really don’t want to overdo it since I had a rough weekend.
I appreciate all the help and meals, and support, scriptures, and prayers that are going Pete and my way. You don’t know how huge it has been for us. We couldn’t do it without all of you.
I did go out yesterday with the help of Peter taking the afternoon off, to help me walk Bert, and to go to the farmer’s market. It is still good to get out and do some kind of moving around at least everyday regardless of how I feel. My dog client, Bert is my therapy dog and helps me to get out like I need to. Good boy!
Hang in there, Dianne!!!
How long do the last four cycles last? When do you get done?
Praying for you!!!!! xoxo

Hi Tali,
I have my chemotherapy every two weeks. Number 4 is on May 3rd which is my last rough chemo, then it is four more every two weeks after that on a less brutal chemo. I will probably still be tired, but I am not sure what to expect. Everyone reacts differently to drugs. Looking at the calendar, my very last chemo will be on Thursday, June 28th. Then three weeks after that on one of the Mondays in July will be my mastectomy.
Then I will probably have some radiation, and I don’t have details on how many treatments of that or when that starts. I would imagine I would need some recovery time after the surgery. I opted for reconstruction, so there will be additional surgery after that after radiation and recovery.
I have a long road ahead of me this year, so this is a don’t count year for any of my other goals I had to set aside. This is the main focus of my life right now, to get well, and rest as I need to. The fatigue makes me not able to do anything, but I know it is temporary, so I am going with the flow.
