Today I was feeling better, and I did go into town for an appointment not related to my treatments. I felt tired, but not ill, I was glad. I think this will be a nice weekend coming up.

Some friends are bringing food over and will eat with Pete and I, and we have tickets that were gifted to us for a swing concert at the Vet’s building in SLO. I am hoping it won’t be too much for me, but it would be nice to have some entertainment for a change. The event is a fund raiser for the police department, so it will be interesting to see who is there.

I am having some pain in my mouth with sores from the chemotherapy, and I am hoping it doesn’t get worse. It is making eating difficult, but I will probably manage OK.

Some wonderful friends who own a cleaning business gifted me in cleaning my house. I am ever so thankful that I am blessed with such wonderful friends. I feel indebted to them and everyone. I am thinking that I will step up to the plate when I am well, and help others who are going through this. I see how it benefits the person going through seasons like this to have help with people who care and are trying to make this journey less uncomfortable.

Thank you for all the help and meals and prayers from all of you. You don’t know how it has really helped Pete and I. We are so blessed.

  1. For your next chemo, ask if you can have some ice chips for your mouth while you are getting the treatment. If they say it’s okay, it keeps the drug from affecting the mouth so much. It depends on your own specific treatment plan. I had the mouth and esophagus issues, too, during the AC part. Only one more to go! THe next set will be easier! Hang in there. Hugs and prayers….

    • I am actually forbidden from my dentist to use ice because I tend to want to chew it, and I have a cracked tooth that is risky. But that is a good idea. I have to baby this tooth because I can not deal with it right now especially on the chemo.

    • Hi Eileen, yes I would like to try that. I never get cold sores, but this is one of those side effect of chemo. Anything to get me through the uncomfortable part til this is done. Thanks.
