I have actually been feeling really well, so I have been taking advantage of it and seeing people and trying to do some things that I have been too tired to do.
Wednesday late afternoon, I went to my yoga class with my friend Janis, and I find that I really enjoy it. This class is excellent for stretching out the body. Although at the end of the class as I was doing the last stretches, I found a couple of termites on my towel and mat which sort of ruined my relaxation a bit. I don’t know if I brought them with me, or if I picked them up at from the couch at the vets hall in SLO. I really don’t have the resources to deal with termites right now if they came from my house. There is too much on my plate at the moment.
Thursday, a friend of mine who is an RN also came and visited me. We oriented together at Arroyo Grande when we worked there, and now neither of are now. Our backs and bodies gave out on us with the hard and heavy work. Another friend was going to come as well, but she was ill. She also oriented at the same time with us and is no longer working as a nurse in the hospital. I am thinking that nursing is bad for the bodies. It surely beat the three of us up.
My friend, MaryLou, went to lunch at Taco Temple which was incredibly good, and then checked out the nurseries in Los Osos. I found some plants that I want to buy to plant, but I still need to finish planting the ground cover I haven’t finished planting. I will probably get to it this week since my strength seems to be getting better. At least I am not fatigued all the time.
We decided that we need to get together more often now that we are not all working at the hospital and we are all sort of retired in a manner of speaking. It was very good to see a long time friend.
Thursday evening, Pete and I went to our support groups and I am finding that we are developing close relationships in this process. At least it is seeming so.
Yesterday on Friday, I went to see the Physician’s Assistant who was covering for my doctor since she was out for a family emergency. I like him. He is a good doctor as well. He basically went over my MRI which I already knew the results of, and went over some questions. I was glad he said he didn’t think I need to start the Estrogen suppression medication yet. I am good with that. I don’t want to have to deal with more symptoms from new things just yet.
Today, my low back was killing me, so it sort of ruined my plans of getting some yard work and other things done. I felt depressed, and I am not sure if it was the pain, or the up coming surgery that is finally hitting me, but I was feeling it never the less. We did get out to see some people, get some prayer, and then I rested in the afternoon after taking some medication for my back. I think it finally kicked it. I feel better now. We had a friend over for dinner and a visit, and I think the fellowship of good friends is healing as well. I needed to have some company today. I think I am past my feeling of depression. Not a good feeling.
Tonight I finally painted something I have had on my heart for a long while. It goes with the theme of our church for this year, so I will present it tomorrow. It actually has some humor in it, so I hope it is OK. Anyway, now I want to do more painting and I have some projects in mind, so I may do them tomorrow afternoon. That will be fun and get me back into the creative mode again. I would very much like that indeed.
