Busy Saturday

I had a busier Saturday than I probably should have, but there were errands that I needed to do, so Peter took me. I did as much as I could tolerate, and then bailed out. Peter had to bring me home and then he finished the rest of my errands and then his errands. It really took a lot out of me. We missed the car wash that was a fund raiser for the youth, but it couldn’t be helped.

I had a couple of new clients to meet on Saturday morning to discuss cat sitting on the Thanksgiving weekend. I went thinking of it as an interview, but they were already decided and just showed me what was expected. I didn’t tell them I was recovering from breast cancer surgery, so I must have looked healthy and ready for the assignment. I was so happy! I know I will feel better by then, so I wanted to start setting up some clients when the opportunity arose.

The other errand was to go to Kohl’s to get some athletic shoes for Pete. His were worn out. I was going to just stay in the car, but then I decided to go in and see if they had anything I needed that was on sale. I was totally spent after that and was starting to hurt more. I knew that Costco was not going to be tolerable for me at all. I only needed a couple of things there like my allergy medicine, but it is not a place that you can run into and be out in a minute. So Pete took me home, had some lunch and then returned to SLO to finish errands.

We usually go to my sister and brother-in-law’s for Thanksgiving and then we can see their whole family, my nephew, his wife and their four children. I am thinking I will be in the midst of my radiation treatments and we can not afford the travel right now, so I am OK with that. I did send an invitation to my nephew and his family to come up here for Thanksgiving, But it is probably too much for them to bring their four little ones. Just thought I would see if they would like that.

So the way it looks, we will probably be spending Thanksgiving with just the two of us (Pete and myself). I don’t think I will cook a big dinner just for the two of us, so maybe I will have Pete just get a turkey breast and some vegetables. It is still early.

Pete’s Mom is planning on coming over for a visit for much of the month of October. She can be my company while I go to radiation if that is going on then. We will have a lovely visit. She will be here for a couple of weeks, but half of it will be staying at her brother and sister-in-law in Arroyo Grande, and the other half will be with Pete and myself. We will have a nice visit nonetheless.
