Finally a Whole Day at Home

Today was the first time I didn’t have any appointments or something I needed to go to. I did my best to do nothing. Actually I was glad to have nothing planned. I wasn’t feeling quite well.

I am still struggling with edema and pain. I even get some nausea from the edema, and probably the medications. It feels very odd on my side and chest and back, and I can actually see the puffy fluid under the skin. It should dissipate one of these days. Today was my last day for Lasix which is the diuretic, but the doctor gave me extra if I am still retaining fluids. I will be planning on taking it for a couple more days since it is still there.

My General Practitioner’s office called and the assistant told me that I am anemic and the doctor wants to see me. I don’t know why he couldn’t just tell me to take iron or something like that over the phone. That appointment was made for next Tuesday. Maybe that is why I feel so draggy if I am anemic.

Every time I go to any of these doctor’s, I seem to have another drug added to my regime.  In fact, I was supposed to start my estrogen inhibitor pill, but it took a while to get approved by the insurance for some reason. I had to call the doctor’s office per pharmacy’s request to tell her she needed to call an 800-number to get it expedited. I really don’t want to go on this one because of the side effects, but then I want to do everything possible to stop this cancer from coming back or spreading. So I will be the compliant patient and do what the tests have proved to be effective for my kind of cancer. I will pick up that up tomorrow. I may not die from the cancer, but I sure get slammed from all the medications and treatments.

Well, back to resting again. My friend Donna brought some lovely tortilla soup, and it was just perfect. Glad I didn’t have to cook. I am supposed to lay low and having a meal brought to me really helps. Thank you, Donna. Bless you.
