Today was my 23rd radiation treatment! I either have five more doses left … or ten more. I won’t know until next week I guess. The last additional treatments are called a booster which is a more narrowed down and intense treatment to the area of where the tumors were. Mondays are the day that the oncology radiologist sees the patients and checks up on how you are tolerating the treatments. He checks the skin and orders lotion or creams if needed and I got some last week due to a reaction on my skin. It is looking a bit better.
The radiologist almost did a double-take looking my surgery site. He asked who did it and was amazed at the healthy suture line. I have two incisions, and I guess mine is a newer procedure from how the doctor examined me. My plastic surgeon is very good and I am glad my oncology surgeon recommended him. He is definitely an artist.
This evening Pete and I had friends Carol and Roy over for lamb dinner. They live in Israel but are visiting here for about a month. They used to live here and went to our church, but immigrated to Israel a year and a half ago. They are spending time with family and visiting many friends while they are here. It was a very delightful visit! Pete and I hope to go visit them one day very soon. It would definitely be a wonderful trip, but all the more wonderful to have friends there that we know and have been praying for.
I walked Bert today before I left for radiation, and he is always such a delight to go see. His foot has been hurting him, but he seemed to be doing OK on our walk. He must be getting better, or he was just happy to be out and about.
I feel pretty good today and not quite as fatigued. Maybe I just don’t notice it, or I am just having an extra good day. I will take it and enjoy it when I am feeling better. A good place to be.
