Well, I rested a lot during the weekend and didn’t get much done, but because I had the fever and all, it really wiped me out. Rest was in order. I had long naps everyday.
Saturday I had no fever all day, but didn’t want to push it. I did have a client to see to go over everything to do for his cats while they go on their Thanksgiving family trip.
Sunday we went to church and saw our friends/missionaries in Israel, and they will be here for four weeks. We had a potluck after the service and it was a nice social event. Most people rush home after church and we don’t get opportunity to really talk with people. I was glad I went. At first after having the flu and not knowing where I got it from, I was really considering not going to church or public places until I have completed my radiation since it knocks my immunity out the window. But I was glad I went and I will just have to steer away from those who definitely look ill. They shouldn’t be there anyway.
On Saturday I did notice a scabbing, rash like area on the upper area of my radiation and on my upper right back. When I went for my radiation on Monday, I showed it to the doctor and he said that, yes it was caused by the radiation. He gave me a prescription for a topical steroid lotion to apply twice a day. Oh boy! More medications. It should help relieve it at least. It does itch and burn.
Today I was supposed to walk Bert, but the owner stayed home because he injured his foot. She was going to have me sit with him which I would have done in a minute, but alas! My radiation treatment was during that time. I will miss him this week since I won’t be walking him Thursday due to Thanksgiving.
Well, I better get myself ready to get going soon. I need to do another errand besides my radiation, and then this evening, I am meeting my friends from support group at the Hearst Cancer Resource Center to continue doing the collage project for our journals. I haven’t even looked at mine since I can home from the retreat. Maybe going today will inspire me again. It is a fun project.
Tomorrow I start my two pet sitting jobs for the holiday, so I know I will be busy. A fun busy none-the-less. I am looking forward to it.
Glad you’re feeling better. Wishing you and Pete a blessed Thanksgiving! Love you guys!!
Thank you Annemarie, hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful. Love you too!
Dianne,
Mike and I are glad you are feeling better. We are staying in Cambria for the next 4 days and would love to see you both. We would be happy to come down your way, or to have you both up here. We could even do Thanksqiving together up in Cambria if you are up to it. Mike will call later.
Take care!
Love, Mike and Mary
Thank you Mike and Mary. It was great to spend the day with you. I look forward to more outings with you as well.
