Thursday, I got take a walk with my friend and her dog (my client too) early in the morning. It is very nice to have a walking buddy to walk with from time to time.
After I got home, I had to finish making all my phone calls I needed to do which pertained to my surgery and all, and then talked with a friend about the siting of whales in Avila Beach. We both decided to go in the afternoon and go see them. It was incredible.
I was so happy to feel well enough to enjoy it. We saw several whales in the bay, and I also had never seen so many pelicans, seals, porpoises, various sea birds, and including the whales all so compact in numbers. There were hundreds of active, busy wild life in the bay and it was like a feeding frenzy. They were bumping into each other, playing and not intimidated by all the people watching. There were a couple of kayaks and people in boats that were close to the activity and the whales. Several times the whale’s heads came up beside the tiny fishing boats and it look mighty close to bumping the boats. I wonder how those people felt that were in the boats who were that close to the whales. It was wonderful to see.
I feel blessed to be living in a place that is so beautiful with all the wild life so close. I was so happy to feel good these last couple of weeks to be able to do something fun prior to surgery. I thank God for the simple, wonderful pleasures of nature that we can enjoy and experience. I don’t even have to drive far to see it.
