A Blessed Day

Today, Friday, I did the exercise video again and it was easier with the stretches this time. I can tell that it really helps to get moving and increase my mobility to the affected arm. I did lose slight mobility with the surgery, but I think I will gain it back if I am consistent in maintaining my exercising regime. I would like to get back into weight training, but I think it is a little early for that. I will concentrate on the mobility type exercises for the time being. I want to increase my walking too, but the doctor did say to limit it. That is hard for me because when I start something, I like to push myself a little harder to the next level.

My friend, Denise and her husband came and blessed me yet again by cleaning my house. They did a very good job and I recommend their services.

In the afternoon, another friend, Christine helped me finish planting my ground cover in the front yard. She did a great job and it looks wonderful. It didn’t take long, but was an activity that I have had to postpone because of surgery. It will be wonderful to be able to do these things again. I have always enjoyed yard work. It has such a peaceful affect on my mood. Even just watering is therapeutic to me.

Today, I finally worked on my continuing education that I had meant to do at the beginning of the year. Even though I am not working as an RN in the working force, I just don’t want to lose my license, so I still maintain the continuing education hours to keep my license current. I worked too hard to obtain my license to just let it expire.

It was hard for me to motivate myself to do it earlier this year in light of the turn of events, so my heart and chemo brain wasn’t in it. Today, I decided to tackle it. I bought a set of studies on the internet, which is a lot cheaper than going to classes, and I take the test and do an evaluation all online too. I was delightfully surprised that I actually found it interesting enough to barrel though much of it today. I even printed out my certificates of completion for the ones I finished. It feels great to complete a project. I have one more to finish. I am glad I felt good enough to concentrate on it. I did have pain today, but I medicated myself appropriately so I didn’t have that urgent feeling of discomfort.
